The US will no longer assist any country that has ever spoken poorly of us.
The US will help those her that need assistance before helping anyone in another country.
New US Slogan - Clean up your own mess cause we ain't go time for yo crap!
In order for another country to get a loan from the US (which they never pay back) they must issue the US collatoral of equal value.

Any US Based Company that manufactures their business outside the US and then brings the product into the US to sell will be forbidden. Build it here or get out. OR the taxation on these items will prevent these companies from outside manufacturing.
That's a start.

Unfortunately anyone who enters the White House in 2008 will have to clean up the gigantic mess made by GWB. No matter what else they will want to do. Health Care for our children, elderly and working poor of the the United States. We need to over haul the entire system. Those two alone could take four or more years to work out. The next would be education and welfare, Social Security System. Now you have gone in the the next four years. Let's throw in some place global warming and get large industry to put up big cash to clean up the toxic waste they have created. Let's put some of our best people on a committee to investigate fuel alternative for the sake of our children. Need I go on?
* for those of you who hate Illegals in our country...Would you take a minimum paying job working in the farm fields of California ? If your answer is no, then let's not kick out someone who appreciates what you can't!

Instating the fair tax, abolishing the IRS and the Federal Reserve and the Income tax, and put the business of printing currency back into the hands of congress where it belongs.....before they can assassinate me. Also abolishing the Patriot Act and Homeland Security. Pulling US troops out of Iraq...also before they can assassinate me. Pass legislation that rewards corporations for keeping jobs inside this country, and penalizes them for outsourcing. Replace the minimum wage with a living wage, and raise it to match the cost of living. Make it easier for Unions to organize for the benefit of the workers. Create affordable housing legislation that actually works for the people. Figure out how a Universal health care system can work...by examining all of the models around the world and determining what works and what does not, and why! Then pass legislation on it. Create some kind of legal safeguard to insure that my work is not reversed, after I am assassinated! *sm*

The first thing would be foreign policy. I would order the troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan. I would end any and all military assistance to ALL countries. I would heavily tax any and all weapons systems that are sold outside of the country. I would close all U.S. military bases throughout the world gradually... with a deadline... and working with local authorities
I would get The U.S. out of all international organizations.
I would ask both Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul to be my personal advisors,,,because both of them have really good ideas and both of them are sincere, intelligent individuals.
I would look at the ideas of both these individuals and implement those ideas that I agree with.
I would try to find individuals, in both parties, that would be willing to work with me on different issues.

Good question! I would start with a flat tax for everyone earning above $40,000 per year. Abolish the IRS. Set term limits. Get immigration under control, find out who the hell is here, and get them documented. Stabilize the middle east. Get Europe back on our side. Team up with Russia and China to solve our gas issues. Last but not least, give myself a nice big raise. (kidding)

Revamping our legal system, term limits for all elected officials, reducing our need for petroleum products, more realistic ways to improve our country's status within our country and not somewhere cheaper. If we're to stay proud of the USA, then we have to force the big money to stay here at more cost to all, before we can improve our economy, environment, and lives as US citizens.

The most important issue facing America is our civil liberties. The other important issues like economy, environment, foreign policy, etc. tend to be out of our control and can be preyed upon by other nations. Our civil liberties are our own and if they are not protected than the only people we can blame is ourselves. I would seek to clearly delineate our civil liberties in a 21st century context and try to eliminate loop holes that would allow future presidents to erode those liberties through successive legislation.

Redefining the direction of the country in foreign affairs including the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. (Not leaving immediately but defining our options.)
Develop a group of experts to determine the real solution to health care issues.
Install strong managers into the various departments of the administration.
Push for line item veto authorization.
Immediately push for a temporary visa for all illegal immigrants to give us direction in how to deal with them, identify the magnitude of the problem, put them on tax rolls so they have to pay the taxes, and give us time to solve the issues.
