They just did stop LA Lakers from another championship, that year was 2003, David Robinson's last season as an accomplished and successful basketball star. And maybe if he didn't hung-up his jersey, they might have made it 3 in a row ( Detroit won 2004 vs LA). But still its a good timing for The Admiral to retire being a champion were Magic Johnson, Jabbar and Jordan didn't do on their final year.

No, David Robinson was washed up with a bad back when he retired. The lakers wiped the floor with the Spurs when the played in 2001. If you remember it was advertised as one of the best match up in decades but ended up being a one sided affair. I think the Lakers set a record for the highest point differential for a the Conference Championship series. In other words, the Lakers embarrassed them.

No. The Lakers were just too good. But who cares? Robinson won 2 titles, and Duncan has 4.

When Duncan came into the league Robinson was already past his prime and Duncan didn't have the talent he has now, so I don't believe the pair of Duncan and Robinson could have had any impact on the Lakers accomplishment.

He is plain SOFTIE.
He just can't stop Shaq one-on-one. He looks pathetic against Olajuwon in 1995 Western SemiFinals.
I think he doesn't won any ring if not for Tim Duncan.
San Antonio as David Robinson as their franchise player is a soft team. He cannot lead them to the promise land.

No, his back would have been broken in two. He had been having trouble with it for a while. His last 3 seasons he averaged 11.7 points and 8.26 rbs but in just his last season he averaged 8.5 pts and 7.9, He was on the decline quick, one of my all time favs though.
