Why don't they just build fences or walls? If it goes over the fence it's a homerun and then umpires wont have to determine if the ball went over the yellow line and if it is a homerun.

Maybe it was too general. For example, do you like the yellow line "painted" on the center field wall in Arizona. The umpire has to make a judgment call if it went over the yellow line where as it would be easier if the ball went over a fence and then there is no judgment call.

are you retarded??

the reason he yellow line is there is because alot of parks have a wall behind the HR fence. the yellow line is there because if the ball goes over the yellow line the umpires (who are at least 200 feet away, sometimes 300 or even 400)can make the correct call on a HR

LOL
they have fences and walls and most balls that go over "fences" is a home run if in fair territory....
in some parks there are multiple walls so the yellow lines can help the umps see better....
