wow, big woop. I am a yankees fan and of course was disappointed when that happened. Although I don't know why so many people bring that up. I mean the red sox had the super rare year of making it to the world series. If you want to bring up how many times the Yanks made the Sox go home weeping than be my guest. I am sure we have much more to laugh about. One year is the only thing sox fans can bring up and it really is a shame. Not that they never make it to the world series, but that in the one occasion that they did you fell you have to rub in someones face, even though we had the ability to do it many many times.
Rarely do I see yankees fan come here and post a question to make fun of the red sox, yet red sox fans do it all the time. Hate us if you will, but please be a bit more mature and reasonable about it.

I remember but that is over & I am over it like you Red Sox fans got over Bucky Dent, or did you. First World Series title in how many years. How many did the Yankees win since then? Even the Florida Marlins won 2 before you won in 2004. Even though the Sux won in 2004, the Yankees still have more titles then the Bo Sux do. Most of your loyal fans died even before they saw a championship. Came close against the Mets, but what a great play by Bill Buckner? Have you Red Sox fans forgiven him or not? Boston will never have as many World Series titles as the Yankees. Cheers to Bill Buckner

Yes, they can remember about that, they had terrible day at that date as Yankees had gave up their hope to beat Red Sox after gave up many runs and hits include Damon's homeruns. Now, Yankees try to forget 2004 ALCS after three years of Yankees lead 3-0 before dropped to 3-4.

yes, because we are intelligent fans that remember EVERYTHING, not just when we win like sox fans. remember 1993? that was the last time the yankees missed the playoffs. remember that five game sweep on YOUR turf last year? remember the pedro martinez collapse and aaron boone home run to win the alcs in 03? remember that the yankees have won 9 consecutive division titles? remember that the yankees have won a sports record 26 world series? remember that before 2004 it was 86 years since your last world series victory? the red sox and their fans have NOTHING on us yankees and never will =]

I'm a Dodger fan so it brings back happy memories for me.
Every year the Yanks fail to win the World Series is a good year. 2004 was especially sweet since it was at the hands of their hated rivals; and ended the long curse of The Bambino. Now the curse is on Alex R. haha

It was akin to the LA Lakes _finally_ defeating the Boston Celtics for the NBA Championship, with Magic Johnson leading the way.

yes Yankee fans still remember but what is different from the Yankee fans and the red sox fans is that we move instead of just staying in the past and reminiscing and

p.s remember 1978 and 2006

Deep down in their subconscious they probably do but, like the Red Sox fans had managed to block out so many seasons prior, they probably had it erased from their minds. As a Red Sox fan for over 35 years, I know what blocking things out is like..lol...As for RS fans, that was probably the most thrilling week of our lives!
