I am sure the families feel the same way but wouldn't it be sad if they said "we believe they are all dead so now it will be called a 'search'. And then they find them alive!
Either way is a no-win situation....saying they are dead and they might be alive.....saying they are trapped and they are dead.
I just believe there could be hope. I just pray for them and the families.

I thought rock was dead in the Eighties, I hated Hair Bands and Punk and Disco. The 90s proved me wrong when I heard Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and Sound Garden. It seems like rock might be dying again now that those bands are gone but it just depends on what you like. It you don't like the new stuff at the time then it will seem like rock is dying. Of course music has to change or we would all be sick of the same old thing. It is harder these days to be a supergroup because nobody can match record sales of the past. People these days just download the music they want. Alot of the time it is just one song and not the whole album. In the 70s I would buy an album not for one song but for all of them. Also for the cover art of the album and what it had to say. Younger people today don't have the feeling of owning an actual physical collection. They just put music into a computer and thats it. Rock will never die because there will always be that young musician out there that is good enough to come up with something new but use the influences of the past to do something like Kurt Cobain did.

I don't think the media wants to be the first to say it. Even though the thoughts are grim what if someone is alive. Can you see the family suing them? Don't take me wrong too many times the media says things wrong or blows the mildest into a volcano.
I don't know the whole thing is said. To think 3 of the rescuers died yesterday. Just a nightmare.
It makes such a point - DON'T CHOOSE MINING AS YOUR OCCUPATION!!!!

I know what you mean. It is pretty annoying because we all know the oxygen has ran out down there if some did survive after the cave in. So they suffocated. I think the news just wants to keep milking this story until we all forget about the miners or until they find their bodies. And we'll watch this story fade out soon enough---oh yeah, some more miners got trapped in Utah, last night I think. It's on Yahoo!'s home page.

The media sucks.... By the sounds of it the mine should be shut down and blown up... I feel sorry for the families because of the false hopes. The owner of the mine seems like an @$$ he should be put in front of a firing squad....

it is possible for people to live a couple of weeks with no food. There are water stations periodically through the mine so they may have water. As for air, they did locate a room in the mine that the ventilation system is working so air quality should be good if they made it to there. Yes, its true, they may be dead. But there is still hope.

hope springs eternal. as human beings many want to believe that there is always a chance for someone to survive under almost impossible odds. if one doesn't have hope there really is nothing left for one to carry on for.
