Find the LCM for 6 and 9.

Simplify: –(–28).

Solve the system by addition
5x – 3y = 13
5x – 3y = 13

The sum of two numbers is 80. The second is 8 more than 3 times the first. What are the two numbers?

Thanks

1) the formula is
(y - y1) / (x -x1) = slope, m
(x1,y1) = (-1, -3)
m = -5
so
(y + 3) / (x + 1) = -5
y + 3 = -5 (x + 1) = -5x - 5
y = -5x - 8

2)
LCM of 6 & 9
6 = 2 x 3
9 = 3 x 3
LCM = 2 x 3 x 3 = 18

3) - ( - 28) = 28

4)
5x - 3y = 13
x + y = 80
3x + 3y = 240
5x - 3y = 13
Adding
8x = 253
x = 253/8 = 31 5/8 = 31.625
y = 80 - 31.625 = 48.375

you need to master the material and do you own homework. YOu will not learn the material or pass the final if someone provides the answers.

y = mx + b is equation for line; m = slope which is -5 therefore
y = -5x + b; line goes through 1-, -3 therefore
-3 = (-5)(-1) + b and you can solve for b and answer this one

LCM for 6 and 9 - what is the lowest common multiple? what number is a common multiple? (start with 2 - it does not work, now try 3 - is 3 a common multiple of 6 and 9? If not go to 4, etc) You should easily find this out.

the system problem is not properly written

x + y = 80
8y = 8 + 3x
solve these two equations and you have the work problem done

Write the equation of the line that passes through point (–1, –3) with a slope of –5.?
that would be y-y1=M(x-x1)
soooo its y-3=-5(x+1)
for the lcm that is 18
simplify --28=28
if u solve by adding I THINK there is no answer
last one is 18 and 62

equation is : y - y1 = m ( x - x1 ) y + 5 = 2/3 ( x - 1 ) y + 5 = 2/3 x - 2/3 y = 2/3 x -2/3 - 5 y = 2/3 x -5 2/3

1) y+3 = -5 (x+1)
y = -5x - 8

2) 18

3) 28

4) x=any numbers, y=any numbers

5) x+y=80
y=3x+8
x=18, y=62
