You need to contact DEFRA with regards to keeping goats. They are classed as farm animals and need to registered and ear tagged. You will need to provide details of the area that they are being kept in as all animals have to have a specific area/acreage available to them. I don't know if you have to have a holding number to keep goats but you do for all other farm animals, DEFRA will be able to tell you this.
There is a lot of legislations on keeping farm animals and you need to look into this before you even applying to keep goats.

It doesnt cost that much2 feed goats we feed ours redy grass and goat mix which is pretty cheap and they only need a small amount if you let them graze aswell however foot and mouth has returned so make sure the outbreak is well and truly over before buying goats just to b on the safe side

Goats eat grass hay and some alfalfa hay. Its not expensive. You need a place to store it as well as a place that will keep your goats from eating every plant in sight. They make great pets :)

Well you will probably want to give them hay cause it is cheaper. Get square bales. You need to keep them in a grassy or weedy area so they will have more than just hay. If you have trees around your house pull some leaves and give them some they will even eat pine needles. Other than that you just have to water them and clean up after them. You can get dog collars and put it on them. You could them get a leash and lead them around. They need some shelter too.
