On August 20,1970 a freak F3 tornado hit Sudbury, Ontario. It was one of the worst in Canadian history. I t was not normal for tornado to strike that far north. It had winds of 160 kilometers. It killed 6 and injured 200 and cost about $17 million in property damage. It happened in all of about 5 minutes.
