If it is enough money so that they do not have to work then continuing to work is taking jobs away from those that need them. If they are bored not working then they can always volunteer.

Well they are smart because that money wont last forever. Even if they win enough that could last them the rest of their life they need to be thinking that something could come up that they lose everything. So if they keep working the money they spend from the lottery thing they can be replacing, maybe not dramaticly like they spend a couple thousand, they deff. can't replace that in a week but still they are replacing some of it.

depends how much i won really. If it was only a couple of million then i'd sort my family out, do a degree (went back to college and got A-levels but can't afford to do one atm) and would probably need to go back to work after that because i don't think there'd be enough left to live off. I can't understand these people that win £6 million and continue to work because the world is such a huge place with so much to see that if i won that much i'd probably disappear round it and wouldn't get chance to see everything i wanted to in my lifetime!

I assume you are talking about winning millions. I often hear a winner like that say it will not change their life much and they will continue working their same job. I have a hard time believing them. Most people in that situation the door would not hit them in the a** on their way out after they quit their job.

I'd still work if I had won the lottery.

It might not be at the job I'm at now, but I'd have to find something to do all day or I'd go nuts.

I can imagine that if I won, I would take some time off but that I would find a life with no obligations extremely boring. I would just take the opportunity to do what I love regardless of the pay. That, or start a charity to keep me busy and enable me to give back to the community.

I might still work at my job but part time, 3 days a week from 10:00am-4:00pm or something. Who am I kidding, that would only last for like 2 weeks, then I'd quit; as long as I could find something to keep myself occupied, I'd be okay, maybe vouleteer at a soup kitchen or something.

i think they do it so they dont feel guilty that they have a shed load of cash.

but then people do get bored going on hols and driving flash cars all the time....tut tut

personally if i won....i would leave my job so someone else could have it the perhaps cant get work etc... and get another person off the unemployed list.

in my new found spare time I would invest in property and cheap housing, that way I would still make money and provide homes for people who cant afford to get on the property ladder these days.

Good for them, if I won the lottery I'd quit my day job and just work at my night job.....I'd miss the people too much if I left plus I'd like to keep busy.

I was talking to my hubby about this last week, now if it were me i'd want to go back to work as i wouldn't want people to slag me off for sitting on me ar*e. But he made a really good point being that people wouldn't be the same towards you anyway if you went back to work they'd think you were greedy maybe even jealous of you and most of all constantly bit*h about you behind your back.
So now im not sure what i'd do.
