Are we conservatives so DISGUSTED by the unremarkable GOPers running for the Republican nominatiion that we are attempting to stimulate and energize our party by electing Hillary?

~Divided and discouraged by a GOP field they view as lackluster, they've concluded that the best way to energize party activists, hold the White House and, possibly, return to power on Capitol Hill, is to help Clinton secure the Democratic nod and become her party's most dominant voice. ~

The Republican Candidates are anything but energized, and we need a shake up. Hillary is so polarizing that once she gets the democratic nomination it will energize the republican party to defeat her. If the democrats can get Edwards or Obama the nomination, then the Republicans do not have a chance in 08. So I am crossing over in the primaries to ensure Hillary does in fact get the democratic nod.

Why can't a liberal have a discussion, make an argument, without calling names? Why is it that when your policies don't work, it's because a of a conspiracy? Liberals had 40 years of power, and dug a huge hole. Conservatives have had power 10 years, and made strides to straighten it up, and yet the libs won't admit they were wrong?

But, with a straight face somehow, they call the conservatives stupid, pedophiles, liars, and cheaters. Look at your own party, your own way of life, how you treat others... get yours straight before you come trying to fix mine.

Now, I am not disgusted by the GOP front runners, Hunter, Romney, Giuliani, and Huckabee are making perfect sense. They are taking us back to home. Bush did what I sent him there to do, he built some bridges, but mostly beat the Demos at their own game (and it's driving them crazy). Everyone's taxes are lower, the stock market and the economy are both strong, unemployment is lower then ever, the dollar is strong overseas, and life in general is better then it has been since 1988.

Republicans should be ecstatic about the upcoming election. Don't listen to the doom and gloom media, they want you to think it's all bad so you will elect their latest communist, I mean liberal, candidate. Stay focused, keep smiling, because it is all good.

i doubt that this is the agenda. Hilliary has been running for president since she became senator. she has accumulated a large 'war chests' and has an advantage over the other candidates in this respect.

while i do not care for her personally, she is, after all, the consummate politician with many years of experience on how best to manipulated the system. IF she is selected to run, she will be a formidable opponent and should not be under-estimated.

i find it hard to believe that again, she is the victim of the great 'right-wing' conspiracy but she has used this claim to her benefit numerous times.

as an independent, thinking registered Republican, i am sad at the limited choices we have on both sides. once again, i will be reduced to voting for the person i feel will do the least harm to my country rather than who will do the most good.

as long as there are those people who blindly accept any candidate 100% and does not voice their exceptions to certain policies, the candidates on both sides will continue to pander to the public. IMO

safe journey.

The GOP moved far right, using the propaganda value of talk radio, FOX and the organized 'Jesus freaks' to overcome common sense and common decency. They attained the 'power' they wanted, but forgot that it isn't 'power' they were granted, but responsibility. Worse, when confronted with real issues, like going to war, the GOP proved to be incompetent and given to wishful thinking. Good, thoughtful, decent and educated Americans advised against this Iraq adventure and were chastised as being 'America haters' or Saddam lovers, or 'the left' or 'liberals' that wanted to 'surrender'. Worse, if anything can be worse, they insist that because tran-national corporations are making money hand over fist that the 'economy' is good, even though for the American wage-earner it isn't. War..the economy..energy..health insurance...the environment..education..infastructure..social security..social issues..the deficit..taxation, you name it and the GOP has been on the wrong side of the issues. So now all they can do is place their hopes in damaging Sen. Clinton. The GOP was once the party of Lincoln and Eisenhower, now it's the party of backward reactionaries. Sen. Clinton may have some negatives, but nothing in comparison to the me-too republican field...no matter how much they attack Hillary, I don't think it will sell their shoddy goods again!

Yes, they are helping her. The right wingers see Hillary as the most beatable of the Democratic front runners, so they are criticizing her as if she already has the nomination. They want the public to have this "forgone conclusion" so that she does indeed get the nomination.

It seems that since the GOP field is rather weak and GOP loyalists are not satisfied with their choices, they are concentrating on what Hillary will do to "destroy" America instead of what their candidates can do to improve America.

For starters hill is delusional and continuously would be. bearing directly to an excellent perfect-wing conspiracy: that's like choosing the lesser of two evils. i think of conservatives, mutually as they believe hill so a techniques as they are in a position to throw a Lincoln Navigator, think of she could desire to be a touch extra advantageous than obama. Or it may desire to be that they only choose for to work out the Dems tear one yet another up and discern a wounded Dem could be extra convenient to conquer in the final election.

In a sense, yes. Many of us have been so disgusted over the years by the self righteous and viscious attacks on Mrs. Clinton that we look at her as the living symbol of the Republican party's revival of McCarthyism. For sixteen years every right wing ideologue has been spewing his or her bile at "Liberals" in general, with Hillary Clinton as the target of preference.

Rush Limbaugh has made a career out of it.

Republicans like Newt (the adulterer) Gingrich, Rudy (another adulterer) Guiliani and Tom (the paedophile) DeLay have found heinous fault in everything the woman does. She has been accused of and investigated for any number of crimes and, despite the best efforts of the most powerful people in this country, she has been cleared. This does not stop paid lickspittles like Limbaugh and Ann Coulter from regurgitating these stories as if there were some truth in them.

Were that not enough, these same adulterers and child molesters used her in an attempted coup, setting her husband up with a pretty young REPUBLICAN intern who conveniently kept her soiled dress in an evidence bag. Then they subjected her and her family to public humiliation and ridicule, when she was the wronged woman. The fat drug addict on Fox was actually chortling on the air about the pain he was causing her.

Since then we have been subjected to front page rumours she is a lesbian, constant criticism of her weight and/or clothing (as if Limbaugh or Gingrich are svelte and debonair) and, most astonishly, her singing voice! This more than anything else points out the partisan vendetta for what it is.

Had she not sung the national anthem, they would have screamed that she hated America. Since she did, they said she was off key, and therefore disrespectful. Fox treats this as news! Has anyone heard Fred Thompson sing lately?

The Republican neoMcCarthyites have driven the level of political debate in this country into the gutter, transforming the cultute of reasoned debate and compromise that made us great into an excrement throwing contest. While they have done so with any Democrat, Senator Clinton has been their most favoured target. Therefore those of us who expect some decency to be observed in public debate, and feel that the country is ill served by the Republican attitude of "My party, right or wrong," perceive her as the most likely candidate to send the message we want.

Which is: "Shut up. We are not listening to your unjustifiable propaganda."

Those of us who are not aligned with either party still believe in the republic and democracy. We are frightened at the excesses of the Conservatives, to the point where we will risk the Liberals just to improve the political climate.

Since this climate was evidently created by the GOP, you can blame the coming election on a right wing conspiracy if you like. I would suggest it was more due to your manners than your message.

Despite what you hear many Repubs say, Hillary is the last person they want to face in the 08 election. She is a seasoned political opponent, she knows all to well the tricks and attacks the Repubs will use, and she has the political experience and power to withstand any and all attacks upon her. If Hillary gets the Dem nomination the election is as good as over considering the zeros the Repubs have as candidates.

I think as the election gets closer we will see more Republican candidates cut ties with this administration. Agreeing with the President is not gaining them any support. If someone doesn't stand up and denounce Bush, they will will not stand a chance next November. Of course if they do, they will be seen as a traitor to their party.

Maybe if the GOP would back a real conservative with conservative fiscal policies, as well as sound foreign and domestic policies - instead of the morons that are currently in power then they wouldn't have anything to worry about.
