What was the name of movie i think made in 1980s it talks about a family move to a new house in country side and then the little boy start contact with small friendly alien who try to warn the family from bad creatures but the family wont believe the boy till strange things start to occur

I think this might be "Chocky" it's from a book by English, science fiction, author (now deceased) John Wyndam who also wrote the "Day Of The Triffids" and The Midwich Cuckoos" which was made into the film "Village Of The Damned" which were both terrific movies.
