There have been three theories on how he swings. 1. His webs attach to buildings in the city as well as any other object their. 2. He shoots out a cling web in which his swinging web swings on. 3. One time he was not in the city and their seemed to be nothing to swing on which brought up the theory that he can swing on the moon. (pretty propostorous though)

Well buildings when they show it. In one of the video games they make reference to the fact that he often swings, with NOTHING connected to his webs. Let's just hope the Scarlet Witch never says "No More Fake Ledges" or he might never swing again:D

He has be know to use lamp posts and hitch a ride on top of 18 wheelers. The movies have him doing a lot more jumping than the comics.

depends. in the 60's spiderman could attach webs to the clouds (see spiderman cartoons from the 60's) but now he need to use buildings.
