OK these are like, witch/psychic books
LAURIE STOLARZ-
Blue is for nightmares
White is for magic
Silver is for secrets
Red is for rememberance
These are about a teenage girl who practices wicca, and her dreams tell her things. I guess shes sort of a psychic. And in each book she has to help someone and save their lives(including herself). They are really good. She goes to a boarding school and has 4 (5 including her boyfriend) really close friends. Her friends are really funny, she has 2 friends who are girls, and one is....funny and out there, the other is pretty and cheerleadery(but shes not), her 2 guy friends are the same, ones different and goofy, the other is a jock and good looking. Her boyfriend is so much like her,(practices wicca and has the dreams also, about something thats going to happen to someone) and she loves him a lot. But thats what all the books are about, her trying to save the people shes having dreams about lives. They are a great serious, mix of romance, mystery, realistic fiction and comedy.
She also has a book called Bleed, which is about like 5 teens and their lives.
HOLLY BLACK-
Tithe
Ironside
a 16 year old kaye, who is sort of the, rebel, boots and fishnets wearing type, finds out shes a fairy, a changeling, thats the reason she could see other fairies when she was small. She moves back into her grandmothers house with her mother who has been in many rock bands(none really famous). she falls in love with a knight, roiben,(he doesnt really like her like her in the beginning) and tries to survive and overcome many problems with the queens of the fairie worlds. very good books also.
she also has the book
Valiant
about a girl who runs away because of her mothers and boyfriends betrayal. She meets new friends in the streets and falls in love with a troll, whom teachers her how to fight with a sword. Its set in the same time and land of tithe and ironside. Kaye and roiben even make an appearence.
LINDA JOY SINGLETON
The Seer Series-
Dont die dragonfly
Last Dance
Witch Ball
Sword Play
Fatal Charm
their about a girl who is psychic and she has powers, which she uses to try and save people, that she sees in her visions, that are gonna die. And she gets help from her friend, thorn, who also has a power to find things and another friend, dominic, who can communicate with animals.. They team up to try and help her grandmother with her illness, who also is a psychic. This has some romance and lots of mytery. these books are great I highly recommend them.
ANNETTE KURTIS KLAUSE-
blood and chocolate
A 16 year old werewolf girl falls in love with a human. Against what her family/pack wills. And the leader of the pack tries to get her to....be his girlfriend/mate. And throughout the book you deal with problems, action, romance, and suspense. Its really good I liked it.
AMELIA ATWATER RHODES-
In the forest of the night
Demon in my view
shattered mirror
they are not a series but have some of the same characters. They're also about vampires.kind of like the vampires falling in love with the human.demon in my view and shattered mirror both have teenagers in high school. They are all really good.
MEG CABOT, STEPHENIE MEYER.....
also have the book
Prom nights from hell
Its 5 different stories that deal with psychics, vampires and evil beings.

While I was waiting for eclipse to come out I read two good books similar to twilight series. The first is a book called blue bloods. This focuses on the two "different" types of vampires, the blue bloods, who are angel who were banished from heaven after following Lucifer in a attempted take over and want to return to heaven and the silver bloods who still follow Lucifer and gain more power by drinking the blue blooded vampires blood and acquiring there memories.
The second is a book called Marked. It's about a girl named Zoe who is marked as a vampire and has to attend the House of Night. (A sort of school for fledgling vampires.) There Zoe meets some friends and makes enemies with the most popular girl in school. But there's a slight catch not all fledgling vampires make it through some die along the way but some well lets say aren't exactly dead as they are suppose to be.
(Sorry I can't think of the authors right off the top of my head.)
By the way just as a side note I got Eclipse signed by none other than Stephenie Meyer! YAY!

I know how you're feeling. We have a little over a year to wait and while I was waiting for Eclipse i read this great series. Again, lots of supernatural but it's not only limited to vampires. Lots of action and romance and drama.
The Hallows Series by Kim Harrison
Dead Witch Walking
The Good, the Bad, and the Undead
Every Which Way But Dead
A Fistful of Charms
For a Few Demons More
Also both Stephenie Meyer and Kim Harrison along with a few other authors wrote Prom Nights From Hell. It's a bunch of supernatural short stories.

I PROMISE (I hope) that you will at least like one or two of some of these:
(BTW these all recieve five stars! *****)
A Certain Slant of Light - Laura Whitcomb
-- A girl is a ghost or in the spirit form and all of a sudden a student in her 'hosts' classroom can see her. The boy has changed and you'll eventually find out the connection between the two. Some romance --
Don't Die Dragonfly ( + four sequels ) - Linda Joy Singleton
-- A girl has 'witch' qualities and in her dreams she predicts peoples deaths. Not that she does it on purpose. Then there's the conflict to choose between the mysterious, hinting, animal communicator Domanic. Or her very handsome, popular human boyfriend. Adventure and some romance. --
The Named
The Dark
The Key - Marianne Curley
-- There are some in Angel Falls that are the Guardians of Time. They protect the past from the Order of Chaos by traveling back in time to keep the future in tact. This is their story of love, soul mates, traveling, and leadership. Time travel and adventure and SOME romance. --
The China Garden - Liz Berry
-- A girl moves to a little town with her mom before collage and finds out she has a history here. She finds that she is a gaurdian of sorts, connected to a guy in town, who have to gaurd the town. She learns more about it and him and their relationship grows from hate to passion. Mainly adventure and some romance and fantasy. --
Old Magic - Marianne Curley
-- A girl knows she has magical powers and then witnesses a guy in her class crate a storm in the classroom out of rage, even though he had no idea that is was him doing it. She and this guy end up traveling back in time to understand his past and ... get something (honestly I can't remember). They have a growing relationship but it has it's troubles along the way. Time travle, adventure and some romance. --
Blood and Chocolate - Annette Curtis Klause
-- She and her 'extended' family are werewolves. But then she feels the urge to get away from crazy mad teenage boy-wolves and she starts dating a human. You can imagine how that could create problems. Her whole story becomes mixed with lies to both her family and human 'toy'. She has to undo her actions so as no one else gets hurt but her. Fantasy and romance. --
Dreadful Sorry - Kathryn Reiss
-- When this girl moves to her dad's new house, or mansion, she starts having dreams where she bocomes this other girls living in this same house exactly 100 years before. Somehow she finds out that her life is totally linked to this other dream-girl's life. The dream-girl makes a mistake and her fiance pays for it. The present girl has found out that the guy that is also in her town has the dreams too, but in the fiance's point of view. She finds out that the dream-girl wants her to make it right with her 'fiance'. Mystery and some romance. --
I really think you'd like these books! I just finished Eclipse last night. Oooooo... so good. I'm just devistated at how long we're going to have to wait for Breaking Dawn.
Hope I helped! Good reading!

Try the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan it is 11 books so far, he is writing the last one now.
The Prophecy series by Elizabeth Haydon is excellent.
The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
For a little younger, the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Collier.
Those should keep you busy a while.
Of course, all of JRR Tolkien's Books- Where Fantasy got started.

Interview with the Vampire. by Anne Rice.
Stretch your horizons a little. Rice's "Interview" basically invented the genre. All the following vampire books owe something to her work.
These are dark and symbolically heavy works... A lot more challenginge than the YA junk you're filling your head with.

Try the Cirque du Freak series by Darren Shan. It's about this kid who wins tickets to a secret freak show, where he comes in contact with the vampire world. They're really fast-paced and make for a good read. I think you should pick up the first, "A Living Nightmare."
