make it a kinda challenge to yourself..if you have 2 drawers full of stuff..challenge your self to get it down to just 1...it works...

you gotta be strong and not have attachment to a peice of paper, seriously! Or live in a confined house where you have no option but throw out things after a year. I used to be a pack rat and keep sugar packages, paper from a restaurant I went to and when I moved to a small house, I had to stop it or else it would be a mess (and I've since discovered, I'm more neatfreak over packrat). THat'll do it.
Now I'm in a big house, where I could store in the big garage but I don't, anything I don't use in a year, gets tossed out!
