YOU CANNOT SAY THE INDIAN ECONOMY IS VERY POOR.
BUT MAJORITY OF INDIANS ARE VERY POOR. ONLY THIS IS MAKING OUR ECONOMY VERY POOR.

I'm sure there is a misunderstanding. The economy is not poor. It is the majority of the population that is poor.

Poverty is the main reason why India has not developed as rapidly as it should have. There are so many people in India living with under Rs. 50 a day! This pitiful state of poverty is a direct result of illiteracy, corruption and unemployment. Our leaders have been promising eradication of poverty since 1947! How much closer are we than Nehru was?

To eradicate poverty, the dream of 'free, fair education for all' must be realised. Corruption must be stopped at all costs.

As for the situation of unemployment, we have just too many people engaged in agriculture. Much more than necessary. If we take about 30 lakh people out of agriculture and engage them in more productive economic activities, production of agriculture will not decline! Instead, this will help India develop more rapidly than ever before! Again, education has to be brought in here.

Finally, stop divisions on the basis of caste! Reservations both create and destroy opportunities. There is no change. Earlier it was the SC/ST and Dalits agitating. Soon, Brahmans will agitate for the same reason, lack of opportunity! Treat everyone equally.

Free, fair education for all, lack of corruption, creating employment opportunities, stopping social divisions and proper enforcement of laws will help boom the economy and make the country a superpower in a very short time.

How do they "steal" jobs? If I give an Indian a job at my company instead of your friend it's because either the Indian was more qualified or cheaper, ie., the better choice. If your friend has a problem with that it's probably because he's not got any qualifications, or is lazy, or feels some sort of entitlement due to the random chance he was born in America. Tell him to stop worrying about what other people are doing and start worrying about what it is that he is doing. You don't make money by sitting around complaining.

who told u that indian economy is poor, it is in good shape. On the other hand It is American economy whichi is in poor shape now. An American dollar which used to get 46 rupees now gets only rs 41/., the sub prime drama is in US, people buy houses on loan and do not have the money to pay back the loans, Americans are living off credit cards issued by variuous banks but are unable to pay off the dues of credit card. If I want to buy a car today, I will go the dealer pay full amount and buy the car. No American ( general public., like me ) can do that. I bought my house against full payment, which american cannot do.. And u have the AUDACITY to say that the Indian Economy is in poor shape. Dont u have poor people in USA or even UK who have no houses and sleep on roads covered with newspapers have u seen the ghettos in Newyork where poor people live. The areas are full of cockroaches and huge rats. Tell me one country which does not have poor people. think properly and analyse properly yourself before u write.

I dont think that main reasons are illeteracy, unemployment ,poor education system etc. except corruption

It is becuase india is going british way
Indians are now studying western education only
where are Indian education? like Our great Vedas, geeta, mahabharat Remember they are very educational

Physics , chemistry etc is nothing infront of them. these are studied only for selfishness nothing else

India should through away all that Start Indian educating system. It can boost indian economy, because India will develop own power and energy .

Now a days India is borrowing everything from other contries like money, technologies, etc, etc.

i agree with the first answerer:
indian economy has made an excellent progress in the past few years, if the british power had not crushed it, by now, we WOULD be on the top
still, our economy is improving with every word u typre out there(to prove them incorrect)
so any 'attack' on indian economy : u prove that u are interested in wasting time

there are however loopholes like corruption, etc- and THAT is only because of POLITICIANS : no, dont get me as stereotyped, it IS the truth
all "poverty, illeteracy, unemployment ,corruption, poor education system etc"
is due to stupid politicians, and even sonia gandhi is not exemt to stupidty coz she made pratibha patil the president of india, who , in my opnion, is sincerely NO GOOD

edit: so unless and untill WE the people lear NOT to give way and bow towards misuse of power , ONLY and ONLY then will all this decrease

my SUGGESTIONS:
'VOTE WISELY'
'EACH ONE, TEACH ONE'
