I have had several cracked and broken ribs in the past. ANd just had the airbag deploy in my car cracking a couple more. It takes 6-8 weeks before the discomfort completely subsides.

It is best to take an antiinflammatory, ie ibuprofen or naprosyn, though if you have GI issues you are limited to paracetamol.

Apply heat and take hot baths to sooth the area. And use a pillow to hold over the area to splint it when coughing.

rib fractures take a LONG time to feel better. there is a nerve that runs along the inside of each rib which hurts like h*ll when injured. try keeping rib cage tightly wrapped to restrict movement.

a few more weeks, but you should be taking you painkillers, and if they don't work ask you doctor for something stronger.

However some people prefer to smoke cannabis, but i would not subject it because it it addictive, but is said to be good with painkilling.
