I had a laparoscopy 3 months ago which revealed I had both tubes blocked. Only 1 tube was able to be unblocked. My gyni told me I had a high risk of an ectopic pregnancy. Well, I am now 5 weeks pregnant - yippee - thank you! Anyway, now I have to pass the next barrier - ectopic.

Does anyone know when I should start to feel any symptoms? I am having an ultra sound at 6 weeks to check - but I just thought I'd find out when symptoms occur. I know what the symptoms are, just not sure when I might experience them. And hopefully I dont at all.

the only thing that you will feel is excruciating pain. But that is only when the baby is big enough to strech your tubes.

Good luck with everything and i hope it all goes well for you.

My sister recently had an ectopic pregnancy (the baby implanted in her ovary of all places!) and her first sign of a problem was bleeding, I think even before she had any severe pain, but not everyone experiences bleeding. So, of course as with any pregnancy, if you experience any severe pain or bleeding before this ultrasound, go to the doctor to have it checked out.

p.s., just because your pregnancy registered on the hpt does not mean it's not an ectopic pregnancy! Though they don't always show up on hpts, they often do. But, don't think negative thoughts. Try to hang in there until the ultrasound. Good luck.

I would say alot of pain would be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. Congrats. on being pregnant and I hope everything works out for you.

My daughter had to deal with one of those and lost her ovary. Here are the sites below that will give you everything you need to know about it. I hope you don't experience it. She had 3 miscarriages since then with one ovary and now hasn't gotten pregnant again in 3 years since the last one even with the help of 6 infertility tries. They are now sending her to a Speciality Hospital that deals with complicated pregnancies.

I would also like to add that, in many cases, an ectopic pregnancy won't even show up as "pregnant" on a pregnancy test. I'd relax and just take a breather on this one.

really.. you would not feel anything till you were about 8-9 weeks.. that is when the baby starts to grow too big for the falopean tube.. the ultrasound is the best way to tell.
