I wish to do a Science/Arts degree at university, however I am very interested in studying Environmental Science (ES).

Seeing as I really want to take up the two degrees in order to study a language (and a degree in ES can't be combined with Arts), I'm not sure what science degree major would be closest to that of ES (which is not available as a separate major in the science degree I want to do).

So far I believe ecology comes closest, along with perhaps zoology and biology. What are your thoughts?

Just to let you know, the majors available in the Science degree are:
biochemistry & molecular biology, biomedical science, chemistry, computer science, ecology, genetics, geographical sciences, geological sciences, mathematics, marine sciences, microbiology, physics, plant sciences, psychology, statistics and zoology. Obviously a fair few of these aren't hugely relevant to ES, but I thought I'd put them here anyway.

Spend some time with your faculty advisor. Tell them what you're interested in and what you want. If you push on it, they may let you combine ES with the arts. Or they can tell you the best way to get what you want. Look at the various course offerings and pick the courses you would choose if you could design your own program. Or decide that the degree in ES is more important to you than the degree in the language and just take the language classes. It shouldn't be against the policy of the university to give the student the education they need.
