Well he doesn't have much of a choice but to stay the course of loose face to the congress and the American people which he has already done in regards to the American people.
I know if I was in his shoes I would be glad when my term was done so I could get out of Washington, and back to his dude ranch in Texas, never to be seen or heard from again and I myself cannot wait for that day.

Excellent question.
No, I wouldn't surrender to the Democrats, no matter how much they whimpered (something they are really good at).
They are screaming so loudly because, on so many issues, President Bush is RIGHT and it just annoys the hell out of them!
There are many people who want to see a good man ruined and I think it's because they don't know what to do when a man who has good character and a moral core is in power. All they can think of is how to ruin HIM instead of figuring out how they can best serve their country and the people who elected them. They TALK a good game but its all "gas" and they just don't care as much as they want you to think they do.
"If God is on my side, whom shall I fear?"
Bugged in MN had a great answer.

Yeah, I'd put all democrats and all Americans who oppose the war in Mississippi. To hell with democracy! (we'd have to make Mississippi a much bigger state, I'm afraid... 70% of America's population would likely not fit)
Oh and I can't read God's mind... unlike others around here, but my belief is God isn't rallying around anyone who is systematicaaly killing thousands of innocent people for the sake of oil

I'd do the same thing I did for Vietnam, get Daddy to write me a note excusing me from the rest of my term. Then I'd leave and let someone else clean up my mess.

A genuine question - cool!
The war
Deploy surveillance aircraft constantly along with randomly deployed F-15's and recons; not to create any uniform time patterns.
Pull back on the rebuilding until areas become 100% secure.
Establish a world supported anti-terrorist group with Generals from various Countries feeding input with intellegence, strategies and a network of technological equipment and staff.
Have the Generals meet with myself and the heads of state in whichever Countries terrorists are known to have activity in and establish exactly what will be done to either support their effort in ridding their Country from terrorists or cut off all relations with those Countries - leaving them completely high and dry from every other Country in the world, and make them aware that a military strike will occur on areas harboring terrorists - period.
At home
Have a little meeting with Congress and explain that if they fail to achieve uniform goals and objectives by acting on behalf of American Citizens - I'll initiate a three-strikes you're out plan on removing you from Office if you one moment of the taxpayers time, playing "Let's Make a Deal" and get some damn common ground developed.
1. If there isn't 100% participation by all members in Congress for three consecutive votes, you're all docked 1/3 of your wages.
If you are not in attendance for some reason due to illness, etc., your vote will be eliminated from the tally and the final tally will be recalculated and determined from the numbers of those present.
2. You will be allowed to fly back and forth to your State two times a month. You are responsible to finance any flights exceeding that limit with your own money.
3. If you fail the above two items twice, the third time you're docked 1/2 your pay and lose all governmental benefit packages, including your retirement fund.
edit
I forgot one... Congress
In the media: If you openly slander an opponent with verbal harassing of one another, you'll lose 1/4 your pay.

That's not a fair question. You are asking a person to think like a superprivlidged spoiled brat in a bubble surrounded by very rich sycophants. Getting their tax cuts, wars, defense contracts, no accountability, a license to steal, etc., etc., wait until Nov/08. When his bubble bursts and they all run for cover leaving him scape goat and he may realize for the first time he never was decider, rather the puppet that got to strut and preach all the stupid and illegal policies.

I would look in the mirror and realize I'm a liar, trying to bring democracy to the world by imperialistic military force and that I need to apologize to everyone and seek help.
That ok?
