I guess you are talking about seminal fluid rather than a sperm which is a specialized cell floating in a liquid medium called seminal plasma. The seminal plasma is a mixture of the secretions from epididymis, seminal vesicle, prostate gland and Cowper's gland. The secretion of the latter is alkaline. Since this secretion is added at the time of ejaculation, therefore the seminal fluid ejaculated in the vagina is alkaline.
Otherwise the sperms are stored in the seminal vesicle and are present in the acidic medium because the pro static secretion in which they are lying is acidic.

my wife is studying to be a holistic nutritionist and has showed me where a lot of "acidic" fruits, including oranges, have an alkalinizing effect on the body. for Human conception to occur Both the Sperm and Egg must be at exactly 7.4 pH. Not 7.0, not 7.7 but 7.4 which is slightly Alkaline

sperm is an alkaline. Female produces ovum which is slightly acidic. Hence, sperm should be fairly alkaline to neutralizes the egg.

The seminal plasma provides a nutritive and protective medium for the spermatozoa during their journey through the female reproductive tract. The normal environment of the vagina is a hostile one for sperm cells, as it is very acidic (from the native microflora producing lactic acid), viscous, and patrolled by immune cells. The components in the seminal plasma attempt to compensate for this hostile environment. Basic amines such as putrescine, spermine, spermidine and cadaverine are responsible for the smell and flavor of semen. These alkaline bases counteract the acidic environment of the vaginal canal, and protect DNA inside the sperm from acidic denaturation

because a womans secretions are acidic, sperm should be slightly alkaline to ensure the sperm are not destroyed... but it does vary from person to person.

Sperm is neither acidic nor alkaline. Its a goddamn cell...however it only goes out in the form of seamen ...where basically a couple of fluids are added including glucose {for the sperm to feed on}, some other crap and alkaline substances....this is done so that the poor sperms can survive the scary acidic environment of the female vagina..

Sperms are alkaline because before ejaculation, seminal fluid makes the urinary duct which is normally acidic due to urine, alkaline so that sperms do not die & is free of infections.....
if it was acidic, the vagina would burn
