Simple put, no.
However there are some solutions, depending on what you want to do exactly. The main problem is that an external gfx card would have to be connected via usb2/firewire- both very slow when compared with agp/pci etc.
There is a solution for running multiple monitors, see:

however this does rely on your original graphics card.
It might not be too far away though, looking at:

Nope. You see, a graphics card would plug into a specialized high speed port.

That is what makes desktops better than laptops. With a desktop, you have a much easier time getting a faster video card, sound card, more RAM and other upgrades and add-ons.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

there are only Integrated and Dedicated graphics card for laptops and notebooks. The latter being more powerful. But external graphics cards are not yet available for laptops as far as i know and these Laptop Makers really make it a point for us to pay more for a very nice graphics card since we can't pretty much do anything about it when we buy their products.

No. Presumably you want to run something a bit more powerful than your laptop can manage which will drain the battery and if you've got access you a power supply, you might as well have a desktop.

There are such things as PCMCIA graphics cards. However, they are generally pretty low powered and intended either for handheld devices or much older laptops with really lousy native capabilities.

No. Just get a laptop with a proper graphics chip in it.
