Whatever you do don't lend him money for a phone call, he is lying and will run off with your hard earned cash to buy booze. If you tell him to phone home in front of you (so that you know your cash isn't going on his alcohol addiction) he will ramble on about some nonsense and wave his glowing figure at you (all drunks do this if you question them in too much detail). And as for calling you Elliot, I think he has seen too many scrubs episodes, it's easy to mix up names when you are so drunk you can barely walk and have to stumble about with your stumpy legs puking green gunge!

That Alien you are talking about is ET, he's from a movie in the 80's. And you should lend him your phone. And Elliot is the kid in the film.
