I live in Texas, sorry to break it to you fellows but I think we will be hit since
1. hurricanes usually take a more northeasterly path than projected
2. The waters of the gulf around Texas SHOULD be warmer than usual due to the heatwave, and hurricanes usually strengthen in warmer waters
3. Take past hurricane warnings as an example:
Rita, which was said to hit the galveston/houston area ended up in louisiana- much more far northeast than expected.

I can't say exactly WHERE but there is a high possibility that the hurricane will hit the galveston/freeport area most likely as a dying category 5 or mid-high strength category 4. I'm no weather woman but we're better safe than sorry!

They are predicting that it will be at least a category 3 hurricane if goes into the Gulf Of Mexico and that Texas will be hit. I live up in North Texas and I am starting to get scared because from the model predictor it looks like we will be hit with it too. Unless it changes it's path Texas will be hit, but so far it looks like Louisiana will be fine.Personally I hope that it turns it's self around and goes else where before it even gets near the Gulf Of Mexico. We are not even done with Erin yet.

Hurricane Dean will hit the Texas coast within 100 miles north or south of Brownsville, Texas. On Monday 8/20/07 I think that will be narrowed down to a line 50 miles north or south of Brownsville.

If you look and see where the projection is I would say all the work they did in Cancun to fix it from 2 years ago is all for not. GOT SAND? Once it strikes Cancun it will hit Mexico and USA all that they will get is rain.

That all depends on the stirring currents and how warm the waters are when it arrives at a certain location.
