ok....i've shut down my notebook now :D. but the battery led was orange and blinking which means i have to charge it. if i connect my computer to an electrical outlet, whitout turnning it on will the battery still charge? it doesn't say in the owner's manual...:-"

It should.

Or at least every laptop I've had could charge the battery with the laptop off (and do it faster too).

Provided of course the power point is switched on :-)

If this is a new laptop, which I'm guessing is because your asking this question, then it defiantly should. If you plug it in, while off, I'm guessing the lights will come back on, this shows that it is charging when off.

P.s - Notebooks are better than desktops (in some cases), good choice!

I easily have the superb comparable pc the dell variety D620. I have been given it my freshman 3 hundred and sixty 5 days for college and by ability of the tip of my first 3 hundred and sixty 5 days i had to get a clean battery from dell. luckily i had offered into the climate alternative coverage and have been given it for loose. I additionally had to swap my charger around the comparable time because of the fact it jsut broke besides
