I'm not after the - it's the poison ..... it's your body telling you it doesn't like what you're doing to it .... kind of answer.

There must be a biological reason for it.

Nicotine causes constriction in your blood vessels. Your hands turn cold because less blood is being pumped to them. You should stop smoking.

Eventually your arms will go cold, then your feet and your legs and then your chest and finally your head as all activity ceases. The fags are causing you bad circulation which is affecting the extremities and it will only get worse if you don't stop. Smoking also causes dementia so may be you can't even connect the two things up any more. Smoke - cold hands. Don't smoke - warm hands. Mmmm, connection possibly?

It's definitely poor circulation. Do you smoke a lot? My step-daughter does and her hands are always cold and when she went to see her doctor about this, he told her to cut back on the smoking. Actually, if it's really a problem, maybe the best thing would be to do is quit even tho it can be hard. I use to smoke but never had your problem, but then again, I didn't smoke heavily.

Well, smoking is terribly bad for you. If your hands turn cold, it obviously means your body can't take the ingredients in the cigarette and the circulation of nutrients and blood is effected. I suggest you consult your family doctor on this issue. Or quit smoking altogether.

You see the thing is, you take a drag and that stops your heart. Your heart, a human muscle takes time to restart itself. Therefore, no circulation is occurring. Judging by your avatar, you are older than dirt. So don't worry about giving up smoking bc you are going to die soon anyway.

My son will sometimes say to me "mum, my leg hurts when I lift it up like this" then he raises his leg, so I say "well don't lift your leg like that then.

see the moral, don't smoke if it makes your hands go cold, it will make the rest of your body go cold one day but you won't be able to go back inside to warm up as you will be dead.
