how long did it take before you settled in and knew what you where doing?.

6 months is about normal in a new role, if the role is at all stretching. But you should know where the stationery cupboard is by the end of your first week!

I've been there a year and sometimes I still feel a little lost depending on what they ask me to do! In general though it took me about a month. I do a variety of things I had never ever done before (like taking care of property taxes and commercial insurance policies).

depends on the job. as a cashier/stock person it took me about a month. as a professional electronics technician at intel, the training takes 2 months with a month to get proficient

I usually need about 2-7 days - depends on the complexity of my tasks & level of responsibility...

About 1 year I was training other officers. Including some of my supervisors. (I do have over a decade of experience in the field)

I guess i'm a slow learner I'd say 3 days til I atleast felt comfortable

about a week.

i work in advertising and it is really cut throat and either you pick it up straight away or you crash and burn. i've been at the company i work with for 4 years so i must be coping ok.
