No, I don`t think that is true. Animals are comprised of various categories together. Insects reproduce similarly to each other. Birds have a slightly different action involved during intercourse.
For mammals, well obviously, if we a take a lion or a dog and assess the way they mate, then YES they do it roughly using the same principle as.....(you know what I mean - the push and pull mechanism for simplicity!)
I think probably it`s mainly because the animals you are talking about, are probably classified as MAMMALS, and as humans are in the same category, then that`s perhaps why you think like that.

Joan H has the best answer. To put it another way, you might as well ask "Why do lions and animals behave similarly in sexual action?" or "Why do ostriches and animals behave similarly etc.?" The real question is more "Why do humans behave _differently_ from other animals, and what does this tell us?"

hey and ask any question you want with any spelling you want, this isnt about grammar, its about the quest for knowledge, some people get upset because they were not able to play hooky in school and miss those exciting English classes and this is their forum to verbally put others down. (just dont get too perverted and you will be fine, but ask away - please and spell anyway you want your all right with me, cause its not "Yahoo Spell it Correctly or Else Answers!" carry on!
