Dear Ned, I am sure the loss of your wife Maude has left a terrible impact on you and your two boy's lives. Deciding between such beautiful creations is probably even more difficult without the aid of your wife. I suggest meditation. Sit and discuss this with your sons and read the Bible and maybe God will help direct you in the right direction. :)
