Are you serious? I live in price, utah and know a few of the trapped miners and i know some of the rescue workers and they know the dangers of working in those conditions. To leave those who are trapped inside the mine would be horrible it would be like a firefighter leaving a family inside the house because the fire was burning them. If you really think those miners should be left inside the mine you should be the one to go tell the families of those miners. That is horrible to even think. I am certain the other rescue workers would still go and try to get them out of the mine reguardless of the danger just like a firefighter would rescue people from a burning building.

They have been dead for 10 days now. Lets be realistic people.
That owner of the mine has been sugar coating this whole event, trying to make it sound like there still was a chance when there was not.
As of yesterday they only were 1/3rd of the way to where they believe the miners were when the intitial cave in took place.
If it took 10 days to get that far, its gonna take another 20 to make it the rest of the way. There is no way they could be alive by then.

To a certain extent I feel you are correct. However, for the sake of the families of the miners that were buried originally their bodies should be recovered. However, as far as the rescue efforts go, the mine company should hire people that know what they are doing to get back to an operational status. From what I've read this rescue effort has been one big screw up after another, It's really embarrassing.

No. The rescuers should keep trying for this is always hope that they are still alive and if not, the families need closure. However, they should stop mining in this country altogether. There has to be a better way in a country as technologically advanced as this one for men to mine coal. There are too many cave ins, hazards and too many people are dying.

in order for people to do dangerous jobs they need to know that if something happens to them that others will never give up trying to help them. you have to put yourself in the place of the stranded. if it was you, you were still alive, can you imagine how you would feel if you thought rescuers would give up after so long?

I come from a mining family and I find you comments insulting especially as my grandfather was in a mining disaster which killed many men.
