First, get off the computer.
Get into bed and take a few deep breaths and start chanting as it will take your mind off your thoughts and you will drift off.

Obviously wasting time in Q&A is not going to acomplish anything productive. Get out the dusting cloth and broom to do some house chores, you'll then have a excuse to do something productive.

well, its bright and breezy over here... a little too breezy in fact.
so, i think i shall stay up... got things to do
i used to stop up very late as well... but i don't need to any more. some things are closer than you think.
but if you need sleep... try some hot chocolate... a good book (but read it lying down... i find that when i read to my daughter before she goes to bed, it always makes me yawn!)... then, have the TV on low... or put some good music on... but softly...
failing all that... think of something that makes you happy... i have been recently and i now sleep like a log.. and always wake up with the same first thought.

HA! it's later than that here...and I STILL can't get to sleep. Course yakking with a friend isn't helping the matter much...can't sleep when I'm laughing out loud...sheesh.
