Electrons do not know wich color the the wire is. It could be anything, but generally the G terminal is fo the fan realy (or the high speed fan). Y turns on the compressor and condenser fan. W energizes you gas valve for the furnace. RH is the "hot" leg from your transformer.

So I would say your best bet would be this. Red goes to RH. White probably goes to W. RC and RH are usually jumped together unless you have a seperate transforme in your AC unit because it's a package unit like for a trailor. Yellow will probably go to Y. I am not sure about blue and brown because I am not there. One will go to the fan relay or the high speed fan terminal on the electronic board. Yand G are energized together in the AC mode.

If you have a heat pump, one of the wires goes to the reversing valve.

Your new thermostat should have some kind of a jumper between RH and RC.If it doesn't then look in the box for one and if it doesn't then look at the old stat and use the one on it.You should also see if the new stat has a H.P./gas switch on it and set it to the correct. That will be located on the back of the stat by the batteries.Did you change your stat because the furnace isn't working correctly? If so you may want to call for service.

You have to have the code paper for this, without this, it's only a guess. You could try and match the wires according to what the wires on the furnace are, but this, is just a guess.
You could also hook them up temporary and see what runs, this of course is a guess also.
