could the idea of God making man out of clay come from an ancient jewish holiday where claymen were created by children much like snowmen at Christmas time. could this have happened before the Golem story. so could God and the Clayman be actually taken from an originall holiday and therewas a chabge in the holiday and God is modeled on the holiday and was made up by an ancient jewish fantasy writer based on the holiday. or could God be an ancient jewish fantasy writer like fantasy writers nowadays.

That's very interesting. Most likely that's the origin of the "human creator" motif in literature. ie: Frankenstein, Prometheus etc.

And probably one of the factors influencing the creation of the God myth. You should read the book "A History of God" to find out the origins of the idea of God. Very informative

While your question is a Chicken/egg question, as in which came forst God creating man out of the clay or the Jewish Children creating clay men. I believe that since God existed before the Children of Israe that the God first is the best option. I also want to express a view on why you asked such a question. While your question is rather silly, it gives me the chance to ask you if you have repented of your sins, been baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and recieved the gift of the Holy Spirit. If not why not?

Golem

In Hebraic mysticism, a monstrous automaton given life through magic. Many such robots have appeared in Hebrew mythology. The sixteenth-century kabalist Elijah of Chelm wrote a mystical, divine name on the forehead of his android to bring it to life. Rabbi Judah Loew of Prague made a Golem to protect the welfare of the Jews, but in order to prevent the creature from working on the Sabbath, he removed the secret life-principle from it on the Sabbath eve. Rules are rules.

There is a silent film titled "The Golem" a short clip in the second link. Gary Lucas plays original solo guitar music that is quite eerie. I've see him play live with the film a few times.

See the answer above. Man made the Golem, not God. No holiday, no claymen.
