they have felt swollen and very very sore, they are also usually soft and flat but the past few days they are sticking out and i just noticed about 10 little white spots on the very tips of my nipples...it looks like they are about to burst with a discharge , im really worried what could this mean. i also havent gotten my period in about 4 months but i have been told i have polycystic ovarian syndrome. i also have really lumpy breasts but have been told that i have fbro cystic breasts and that its nothing to worry about. could these things be linked and what are the white spots and why do my nipples hurt so bad. i have never felt this please help!!! anything is useful

Tender nipples can be an early sign of pregnancy, and if you have not yet missed a period, it may be too early for a home pregnancy test to detect the pregnancy hormone. Tender breasts can also occur right before periods, especially if you are on birth control pills or take a lot of caffeine. Your tender nipples could also have a very simple and mundane explanation -- friction from rubbing on your clothing.
Certainly if your period is late you should do another pregnancy test. If you get your period and the tender nipples do not go away, even if you decrease caffeine and make sure your clothing is not rubbing, then see your doctor for an evaluation. Tender nipples by themselves are not a sign of anything serious, but any new symptom such as discharge or crusty, red or scabs on the nipple should always be checked out by your own doctor

I don't know exactly what polycystic ovarian syndrome is, but if you have odd things going on down there, your body may be producing the hormones that are released when you are pregnant. (That could also be the reason you haven't had your period.)

I had a polyp in my uterus and for several months I had similar symptoms and more--severe sleepiness--it always happened in the first few months of my pregnancies. In hindsight, it seemed as if my body mistook that growth as a baby and began to hormone cycle.

Is there anything that can be done about the ovarian syndrome?

At any rate, you should contact your doc. There is no reason you should have to go thru this if it can be helped.

It could be related to the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome but the only way to know for sure is to have this issue evaluated by your doctor to see what they think is going on.

Also, young women tend to have very lumpy breasts which is normal.

Depends on what type of pain. But from my experience my daughter used to stretch in the last few weeks and that was extremely painful. I felt like she was going to rip through my stomach! Its probably just a frustrating for you as it is the baby-their home is so small now!

how do you know you are not pregnant?? it really sounds like pregnancy! i'd take a pregnancy test if i were you. if it is negative, get a pregnancy blood test done because sometimes pregnancy hormones do not show in the urine.

then if after all that you are not found to be pregnant, THEN go to a doctor and see what is wrong.

Definately see a doctor; there is a type of breast cancer called Inflammatory breast cancer and it is marked by a change in the outer appearance of your breasts, somewhat like you described. I would have it checked out just in case.
