Well, I'm happily married and we both still maintain friendships w/ ex bf/gf's. This is in no way a problem for either of us. Now here's the thing, my friend/ex bf called me up earlier tonight super drunk, not making much sense, so I couldn't hardly understand him. Then I pretty darn sure I heard him call be baby a few times...... I just ignored it, he's drunk and doesn't realize what he's saying. Well, then he quietly says "i love u" and not in a friendly type of way. So I start feeling uncomfortable. He says it again as we're gettin off the phone, I don't say anything, so he asks if I heard him. All I said was yeah and ttyl. What should I do? Should I just ignore it? Should I tell my hubby? Should I discuss it w/ my friend? Help!

The guy was drunk. Chances are, he will feel like a big o dummy tomorrow. Just let your husband and friend know the situation. Tell them that he called you drunk. Your hubby will understand and hopefully give him a pass. At least you didn't keep it from them. That could be the worst thing you could do.

Talk to your friend first. Make sure he's sober, then let him have it. Tell him that you thought that it was VERY uncool to say those things and expect a reply. Tell him not to ever call your house drunk again, because you don't need any problems with your husband. Be firm....so he gets the message.

I would let my friend know, I am married and if you want to continue to be friends then these kind of things have to stop or the friendship will. If you continue to let him do these things and ignore it, soon your husband will find out and he will be mad at you or he will think because you didn't stop it , that maybe you have feelings for him to. I have been married for 22 years and these things have to be resolved or they will come back and bite you even if you weren't responsable.

From what you say this only happened once - ignore it. If it happens again, yes I would talk to him about his behavior when he's drunk.

consider it as a drunk dial. you could bring it up but in a humerous manor to get his feel on the situation let him know that it was inapropriate.
