You could be suffering anxiety related to the beginning of the school year, even though it is a few days away. Sweating and insomnia are symptoms of anxiety. Tell your mom you are just nervous (excited too?) about the new school year. I hope she doesn't yell at you because anxiety is really beyond your control. Tomorrow night (tonight?) try some Benadryl to help you try to attain sleep; if you fall asleep and wake up, read a boring book - it can put you back to sleep.

Think of the positive things school does for you, i.e., strengthening your knowledge. Don't think of the social aspects of going to school - seeing guys, friends, etc. I am sure you have friends who are experiencing symptoms like you are.

My youngest daughter was up until almost 1 a.m. the night before her school started this year - and kept me up with her - because she was so excited/had jitters.

Once you get in school, things will calm down.

Good luck!

Before I start school, I always get anxious and excited. If I were you, I'd try moving to another part of the house. Does being on the computer relax you? Keep it up until about 30 minutes before your Mom wakes up. Maybe by then you'll have calmed down and will be able to lay in bed without sweating. You can leave your door open after you've been laying there for awhile. She might pass your room and ask why you're up, and you can explain that you've been unable to sleep all night.

I hope things work out for you!

Have you got a fan in your room? Is it possible 2 get one? If not, just open your window. That should help with the sweating. Rather then "turning and moving" in bed why not get out of bed and have a walk round your room. Listen 2 your ipod or put some music on, on your computer. You said that when your mum gets up in 2 hours and see that you are still awake she is going 2 yell at you. Well, i don't see why she would do that but if your that worried about it then you could always pretend 2 be asleep.

Could be that the material of the blanket you are using (if using one right now) could be making you sweat. But for sure being nervous about school starting again could be making you nervous.

If she asks about why you couldn't sleep just let her know that you are getting really excited about school. I know sometimes I was like that just before the school year started.

Have a great school year.

Well, first if you are a growing teen, it's normal to prespire, ESPECIALLY when you are nervous!!! Don't put deodorant on, just relax, seriously. I do this ever year, we are no different.
Get off the computer, and read a calming book, perhaps write in a diary, or just doodle on a brand new notbook page! It all comes down to whether or not you think you can completely just forget about everything, and BREATH.

it sounds like you are anxious about something. you have something on your mind that is bothering you or you are excited about and it is causing your body to act this way. just try to relax, maybe have some warm tea or warm milk, and then try to sleep again. OR.. it could just be too darn hot to sleep! try sleeping with your blanket off.
