Mr. G. W. Bush is coming to Eden Prairie Minnesota on August 21 for a fundraiser to support Minnesota Republican Senator Norm Coleman (who recently said, "We are going to be in Iraq a long time").

Will this hurt Coleman who has only a 7 point lead over Franken?

Since a reasonably close election can usually be bought, and since Bush raises obscene amounts of money while being paid to work for the country (as did Clinton), anything Bush does for fundraising is going to help Coleman.

The election is over a year away, so who cares if Bush campaigns for Coleman? Anyone who does care now is such a partisan that s/he won't be influenced by this event.

I do not know Senator Coleman; however, if GWB were attending a fundraiser for me, I would not attend.
