CRT' present a better image for multimedia and design applications (video editing, digital imaging, etc), however the TFT flat screens are far more efficient, in cost, space, and energy use. The issue you are having with the monitor may be due to the lower refresh rates inherent in LCD monitors. Some people are sensitive to the refresh rates of these monitors (especially after switching from a CRT to an LCD). It's similar to how some people are sensitive to fluorescent lighting. Both (LCD monitors and fluorescent lighting) to not actually display a solid image or light, but instead flicker at a very high speed. The lower the refresh rate in Hz, the slower it flickers. After a certain point people start to pickup on this flickering which strains their eyes and causes headaches. It is possible that after a while with the new monitor you will get used to it (I did). If it is that much of a problem though, see about going back to a CRT.

Not susceptible to magnetic fields.

Lower power, so it requires less airflow, which makes filtering easier.

Smaller an lighter, which makes putting it into an enclosure (with appropriate filtered airflow) easier.

Disadvantages:
More susceptible to heat (you can destroy the liquid crystal material at relatively low temperatures)

The screen is more susceptible to damage. (CRTs screens are typucally 1"-2" thick glass. LCD panels are about 1/4" thick and much more fragile. Also whack a CRT and at worst you might chip the screen at one point. Break a LCD and the entire screen goes out.)

it can resist maganetic field and electrical noise than CRT.
-light weight, easy to move arround.
-use less power
-CRT is using high voltage in the tube, so it is dangerous if it is broken into pieces (not never happen except in theory).
