If, and it is a big if with sabres being rattled in Iran's direction and Americans being dedicated to the principal of 'not changing horses in mid stream,' but IF George does leave office in 2008 what would be a good post White House Gig? I suggest President of Yale University since his Alma Mata should be Proud of their 'son,' but if George wishes to live on his Crawford Ranch then Perhaps the University of Texas? Universities need 'deciders' and George has shown he is not afraidf to lead. What do you think would be the ideal gig for ex President Bush?

He won't be living in Crawford. The "ranch" is a show ranch that Rove told him to buy for photo ops, posing as a cowboy, and entertaining. Laura wants to live in Dallas and go to the symphony; the show ranch will be sold or will be a vacation home. SMU will probably get his papers and they would sacrifice their president to get him as their president. He could raise billions of dollars and make their endowment the largest in the country.

I think that would be boring for him, however. I think he will "write" his book, which will be his giving interviews to a speechwriter, who will then write the text. Then I think he'll make billions of dollars by influence-peddling through the Carlyle Group and the whole secretive network of Saudi oil shieks, Republican operatives, lobbyists, and other sleazeballs that his dad works for big bucks. Influence-peddling in secret for big bucks would be hog heaven for him and the fitting culmination of a disgraceful career.

Republican presidents never do anything of real value after they leave office. Bush will probably get some slacker job like he's had all his life, peddling his influence to make money selling weapons to all sides in the Middle East, like his dad. Maybe Halliburton will pay him tens of millions like they do Cheney to get them fat, juicy noncompetitive contracts that they won't be held accountable for.

President of Yale is kind of a stretch. 8^)

He sneezed compassion and empathy out the wazoo. he's acquaintances with Osama's kin and delivered us into an oil conflict. Aaaawwwwwww. it relatively is why each and all the bible bangers voted him in. He has extra compassion for his enemy than his pal. How Christian-like.
