Not necessarily.
The fact that you were having happy moments would mean you were not completely depressed.
If the sad and happy times are both to the extreme and unpredictable you could be Bi-Polar.

NO. It means you're human! No one is always happy nor always sad. If you were in either of those states, I'd say you were depressed and/or bipolar. But by what you describe, it just seems like normal human behavior. I get up in the AM, and generally I am not happy cuz I wanna sleep. Then I get to work, meet my friends, and feel happy. Then something might go bad with work or my girlfriend, and I feel sad- then we patch things up-happy again. See what I mean?
Unless you feel REEEEALLY down, like you don't want to interact w/people, you don't enjoy anything, even the things you love most, than that's clinical depression.
Otherwise you sound like a regular person to me.
Cheers-

No. Sadness is a normal human emotion we all feel. Clinical Depression is an illness brought on by chemical imbalances.

Sadness often has a cause, direct or indirect. Before being quick to label yourself with a medical condition, analyze what makes you unhappy, what occurs in the days prior and up to the bouts of sadness, and do what you can to change them.

People get 'depressed' by these sorts of things as well, for months, even years at a time, in what appears to be clinical depression but is in reality natural reactions to certain issues or circumstances. Only by addressing the root issues causing the sadness and depression can people expect a turn-around in their emotional state.

It depends on how often it changes and how extreme the highs and lows are. If you are talking about being generally happy one day and a little down the next, then you are just living life. If you mean that one day you are so full of energy you can remodel your entire house and then the next day are so depressed, you can't get out of bed, that is something entirely different and huge problem.

However, if you feel you may be depressed (beyond the normal swing of things) talk to a doctor.

Being sad and happy in life is completely normal and part of the human condition. Being depressed all the time makes you a depressed person, which as far as I can tell you are not.

It could be depression, or it could just be natural. If you go through sad spells lasting more than two weeks, then it most likely is depression. If they are short, then it's just normal. People get sad, it's a part of life.
Also, if your happy times are AMAZINGLY happy, and your sad times last more than two weeks at a time, then you not only have depression, you have bipolar disorder. What's that? Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder where the sufferer goes through amazingly happy "ups" and amazingly depressed "downs", also known as "highs" and "lows". Over two million Americans have biopolar disorder, and that's only the number of those who have been diagnosed. Most people can live with it, but a few go on to commit crimes (but of those most get off by defense of insantiy) and a few (more than the criminals, but nowhere near all of the population of bipolar patients) go on to kill themselves.

If you think you're suffering from depression, contact a doctor immediately. You could be in serious danger of commiting suicide.

Yes.
That will be 5 cents please.

Get outside now and enjoy the night air. You're depressed because your life doesn't feel fullfilled yet. By the way, what do you love to do?

Since I'm a girl, I love flying RC helicopters and making model rockets.

I would say it's just normal experiencing mood changes like that unless it's much more serious whereby feeling depress without knowing what to do or what to decide and the depression period seems longer.....

No, it means you are a human being.
Life is ups and downs, swings and roundabouts.
Sad is just an emotion, like all the others, joy, guilt, fear, anger.
Enjoy being sad as equally you enjoy being happy.
A balance of emotion is healthy.
It is when one dominates that it can be cause for introspection.

Possibly but caould also be bipola. Just depends on your mood swings. Could also be a.d.h.d. Google all three and see if any sound like you. If not then go see your doctor cause it could be a hormone or mineral thing.
