a complete devastation of all senses. You don't get over it ever. You feel like the most vital part of you is dead. It doesn't go away with time. Time doesn't heal this wound. As time goes by, you go through the motions of life and no one knows how numb you are on the inside. You never forget. You simply learn to live with your loss. It isn't a happy life...

Very difficult question.

I had a son pass away 7 years ago. It's a horrible thing to go through. Your life as you know it ends.
It is frustrating when your life has stopped but yet others are still going. Just seeing someone cutting grass, grocery shopping, or doing other mundane tasks would upset me terribly.Didn't they feel the pain I did? How can their life still be intact while mine was falling apart. Why did this have to happen to me?
Gradually day by day you do start getting your life back. That doesn't mean you still don't grieve or have moments of utter sadness, but eventually the tears are less and the smiles are more. You learn to remember the good memories. All the joy that child brought into your life. Instead of being angry for what you have lost you begin to be thankful for the time you did share.
Seven years later my life has gone on. I still have the "what if" questions, but try not to dwell on them.

Hug your children an extra time today and never ever take them for granted!
