He was a British actor and comedian who first came to prominence in Great Britain in a comedy sketch show on radio called "The Goon Squad". In the U.S. he's best known for playing the role of Inspector Clouceau in the movie "The Pink Panther" and for playing three different roles in "Doctor Strangelove, Or How I Learned To Quit Worrying And Love The Bomb". He also played two roles in "The Mouse That Roared", which was written by Peter Ustinov.
