What if everything that you though was real, wasn’t?

What if your whole life is just one big setup?

Would you want to know the truth?

Could you handle the truth?

Or would you rather not risk knowing the truth and go on living your life?

When this question comes close to being resolved, I will post the odds that we are in a matrix along with the source of my info. So if you would prefer not to know the odds, post your response and don’t come back to this question.

And by matrix, I mean in a world that is artificial, not independent on its own, created by some other being by means of ultra computer, large neural network, etc. Outside of which we have no bodies and with no real purpose other than for study or entertainment.

So when I say the in matrix, I’m referring more to the type of artificial reality as shown in the movie “The Thirteenth Floor” and not so much like the movie “The Matrix”.

I couldn't care less. I already know that time is nonexistent, and that I exist as much in the future as I do right now, and have in the past. If I can't control it there's no reason for me to worry about it because it would only cost me time and energy, two things of which I don't need to spare on something so unimportant as the meaning of reality

I believe that we are in something like the matrix. It isn't a set up but it was contrived by a higher power. I could deal with the truth. Unless I was totally not in control of my life and circumstances.

Whether or not we know the truth, there isn't much way of us making a difference. We make our way though it.....whatever it is. we call is "life"

We might be pure creatures of chemical reactions in our brains. We might be also creatures who interrput things in different ways so that is why two such people can see life differently.
But the key is that enough people see things in similar ways so we can have a baseline of what is.
Who is to say who is the norm....the sociopath or the schizophrenic or me. or maybe we are a universe on on the tip of a speck on the back of an ant.

It is a mystery. I believe once we pass in to the spiritual world we will understand.

I would definitely choose to go on living my life. So what if that's the cowardly thing to do? Even though it's all false, you have some sense of happiness and normalcy. Taking away everything that I'd known my whole life would be crushing. I'm too emotional and could never risk just going off into the unknown and leaving my life behind.

The matrix is about two things: living in slavery, and living in ignorance of reality. As one who values freedom and knowledge above most else, I would certainly want to know, so that I may devise steps to free myself and others and to truly live free, no matter what the "real" real world may be like.

All that said, I would be highly suspect of someone claiming that we were in fact in a matrix, and would examine closely any evidence they claimed to have. As I said I highly value knowledge, and part of valuing knowledge is being able to sift out dogmas, beliefs, pseudoscience, conspiracy theories, and other stuff unfounded in logic or empirical evidence.

I think I will take the red pill. I will miss my past life and everything I have enjoyed in the matrix. bwtf, I'm not complaining. I value freedom and one life in search of truth is worth more than an eternity of falsehood.

I want to know the truth. If reality is false, whomever controls "reality" has a purpose in mind. I see that I would pay a price for ignorance. Much better to have eyes open.

It's a circular motion as to what kind of perception it would be: truth or not... but it would be neat to see if I really am a puppet master playing with the strings of my body with my mind/soul via an intricate program/some other means, so sure, why not?

I've already had so many weird experiences in my life that another revelation wouldn't really matter. Some of my experiences, in fact, are so far beyond ordinary experience that I believe a matrix solution could be a possible explanation. It really wouldn't surprise me.

Once you're awakened you can't go back. I wouldn't want to find out that I'm just a brain in a jar. That would be bad for me. On the other hand, I'm no hider. So bring it on!

I would want to know; If my life is a big setup, I would want to learn the truth; I don't know if I could handle it, but I would want to try.
