Would you support a military draft, for more soilders in Iraq, and possibly Iran? Keep in mind that a war with Iran may very well start a war with China, and the Soviet Union. So would you support a military draft in this situation?

What a good question! No, I wouldn't support a draft. Like the first poster, I'm all for defending our nation but only if it's on our soil.
War is such an ugly thing....the military is such a big decision , no one should make those decisions for someone else. If a man or woman wants to volunteer that's their business. But forcing someone to join is just not right IMHO.
In your scenarios, I don't support a draft and as a matter of fact, I don't support it in any situation.
(star for you!)

Absolutely not. If we were having an invasion here on our soil, possibly but most definitely would not support forced troops in a foreign country where we already imposed ourselves for reasons we will never know. I don;t even want to get into the money that it takes to support a war. In the end we are paying for it in every possible way imagineable. Not only do we pay for the war, soldiers salaries, supplies but we also pay extra for what we don't have at home because of it's limited supplies when goods are sent over for the war. You can't afford to live as it is now, drive your car, build or own a home. Take a look at the cost of a piece of drywall this year from five years ago, the cost of a bag of concrete, lumber. People have no comprehension of what the actual cost to us is and in the end...the american public will be no better off other than the US Government will feel they have some control over somethng that we will never reap the rewards of other than the politicians using it as a ploy to hold over another country down the road and manipulate them into doing what we think they should. You and I will be working twice as hard for money that goes half as far for friends and families who have lost what they hold dearest...family members.

No!!! I don't even support the war we have now!! I have a younger brother in his early 20's and I wouldn't want him going off to war!!! My mom went to high school with a guy who was in the Vietnam war. He used to like my mom back in high school. He went to war and his head was blown off!! I saw his name at the War Memorial in Washington D.C. The war is stupid and draft isn't needed. Too many guys are dying. My sister went to high school with a guy who was killed in the war last year. She was friends with this guy too. Their shouldn't be a war it's a waste of our money!!!

I support our military. I believe that we can't sit back and do nothing after September 11 and there is still a lot of work to be done oversea's.

at this point, not unless the war was on our own soil. i support the government, but all of this warring like ancient marauders with no chance at true gain is ridiculous and i wouldn't go. i would support defending our own country, but not invading another (or defending one country against another country that's only mad because of OUR actions in the first place)
