ahah! i'm sure you were the right one! haha! C: C:

containing your anger is extremely hard..
i read once that if you don't express your anger
then you live as long as someone that does express it..

which is scary because i know now that i will not live long

but when i'm angry,
i do many things to try and contain it...

like...i listen to my music, really really loud, and the music has to be fierce and energy filled, and i start dancing and screaming the lyrics...that usually helps--a lot!--

if i am not around my music...i usually take deep breathes and say, "Don't count to 10, that never works. Don't count to 10, that never works. Don't count to 10, that never works."

or...
i just call my best friend and we talk about it or like 3 minutes, and then, someway or another, the subject gets changed and i totally forget the whole thing.

i hope one those ways helped you...
if they didn't, i'm sorry..
i really am..

When it comes to anger, I generally have a very long, slow burning fuse, so I can take a lot without getting angry. When I do get angry, however, I have a horrible temper, and it doesn't just blow over and go away--it hangs around. Every once in a while, though, my anger just comes flowing in when I don't expect it to make an appearance. Since I have a tendency towards violence, and since I cannot trust myself to not either start breaking things, or worse, say or physically do something to someone which cannot be taken back or fixed, I usually just have to get up and leave the area.

I have worked on my anger for years in therapy, and I know all the techniques which are supposed to help you control your anger, but the really serious stuff that wells up in me sometimes just is out of control, so I just remove myself from the situation before I do something really awful. I figure it's safest that way.

Just walk away and don't say or do anything that you might regret when the situation has calmed down. Is it really that important that you need to hold onto it or even be "the right one."? What's more important the relationship with the person you are arguing with or being right. If it's the first get beyond it, if it's the second why bother arguing with someone you don't really care about anyway?

Just try to chill before responding to something thats dumb, or you don't agree with, like just agree with it now then once you've had time to think and cool off, confront them. After that if you get angry again ask to drop the subject.

I have to walk away and calm down otherwise I will do something or say something that I might later regret. Counting to 10 sometimes works but not always for me and not if I am really really mad.

I struggle w/ this too, especially w/ my 5 yr. old daughter. I've been told to count your breaths up to ten. At least think for a sec. before you open your mouth. It's even good to express that you're getting angry rather than fly off the handle. Good Luck!

I am honest with the person who I am having the conflict with. I don't think it does anybody any good to smile and let it eat away at you. The world would be all flowers and cotton-candy if we all "turned the other cheek", but in all honesty we need to be honest.

The only thing I try to contain is their blood from messing up the place.

it's not healthy to try and contain your anger, you need to always vent it by talking to someone, writing a poem or song, or squeezing one of those anger balls. haha
