Ok i have hp a1323w my hard drive is 160gb, i want to add more maybe another 200-300gb but i dont know if i have to buy exactly same company and everything like sata,scsi or other names, can someone explain to me what do i need thanks

You have a DVD drive and a PATA HDD on the IDE port. Better open you PC to check whether you have 2 IDE ports (for 4 devices) or just 1 IDE port and 2 or more SATA ports. If you have SATA ports, buy SATA HDD, otherwise, buy PATA. The new additional drive need not be the same make/model as your current one.

It looks like your PC supports both SATA and IDE (a.k.a PATA) drives. If you want to be sure, open up the computer and look for at the cable running to the hard drive you already have. If it's a thick, ribbon like cable (approx 2" wide), that is IDE/PATA. If it's a thinner flat cable (approx 3/8" wide), it's SATA. You may have both available in your case so that you can buy either hard drive.
