It depends on the context. It can mean many things.
Probably the most common association is with money. US paper money is green. A person may say that they want a new car, but they don't have the green to get it.
I sometimes associate it with germs. Trash cans and dumpsters are often green. Certain flies are green. Bug spray often comes in a green can. Mold can be green.
If someone talks about going to a green or playing a green, they are talking about the game of golf.
Being green can refer to inexperience. A rookie at something is said to be a little green. That usage probably refers to unripe fruit and vegetables such as tomatoes.
Green could refer to marijuana, if someone says, "I need to find me some green stuff to use at the party." But it is more common to use "green stuff" to refer to money.
Green can be metaphorical for growth and development, freshness, and life. But I don't find this to be a common usage. Slightly more common is to use green to represent healing.
I was told by someone who read auras that the color green in mine referred to my femininity.
