The closest to those and my personal favorite is Babylon 5. It is by far the best there ever was. Very good writing and a great storyline. Great characters that interacted so well. It was a great ensemble of actors and actresses.

I liked "firefly" it was a short lived Sci Fi show.
It was a goofy cowboy in space mets mind reading pirates kinda thing. LOL very B and loved it.
