No. This is because the blood from your menstruation would skew the test results (often it gives a false-positive for problems), and they'd have to have you come back for ANOTHER pap to confirm the findings of the first.
To avoid wasting time and money, they don't perform the test during menstruation.

You'll have to call and see if you can reschedule for sometime sooner than 4 months from now, OR see if you can get in at a different clinic or at a Planned Parenthood clinic in our around your area.

You really should reschedule, as having your period could cause the pap smear results to be faulty.

Call them up, mention you are on your period and if the doctor will still do a pap on your period. If not, reschedule. If they say that is ok, then go on in!

Call and ask them. I know this has happened several times to me with my gynecologist yearly exams. They do not usually want or can give you a pap smear while you are bleeding. My doctor always reschedules but quickly, not the usual long period of time when it's due to your period starting.
Good luck to you.

No, I am sorry but it won't be possible as the specimen would be contaminated by menstrual blood. Since the cell get stained and examined under a microscope you wouldn't get an accurate test. tell the office that your period has begun unexpectedly, and that you have been waiting 4 months. Maybe you could ask to be notified if they get a similar cancellation.

Not if your period is full force, so to speak. Here's the reason as stated on webmd.

Try to schedule the test when you are not having your period, since blood can interfere with the results of the test. If your bleeding is light, you may still be able to have a Pap test.

Yes. I just want to have pap-smear check while i was on my period. I did inform the nurse upon my arrival that i was on my period. She said it was fine, Dr. see blood all the time.. it is nothing new for them. Also they might ask you if your flow is heavy. Don't cancel ur appt. go and just let them know that you are on your period.

No - it's impossible to get accurate results when you have your period. The blood will contaminate the cells they are scraping from around your cervix. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news....
