Ok I need help! I want a myspace soooo badly! all of my friends have one and they say its so cool, they always tell me to get one. But I cant get one cause my parents think is dangerous. How can I convince my parents to let me get one. They think myspace is all bad and that ramdom people can just talk to you and they can see your pics. I try to tell them that thats not true but my dad doesnt listen to me. I really want a myspace really badly! how do i get my parents to let me have one? I need some helpp......thanx.

ok tell them this. my parents are total paranoid people and they didnt understand either. the best thing to do is to show them one of your friends profiles. tell them that you wont use your real name you can say that your 98 years old. and explain and show them what a private profile is. also compensate with them tell them if you get one they can check and see who your friends are and make sure theres nothing inappropriate on your page. myspace is not a bad place if you are responsible and careful. good luck!

This question gets asked a lot. I really feel for the kids that can't use myspace because it really is a neat invention for staying in touch and communicating...but its important to understand that your parents are just concerned with keeping you safe and they don't hear very good things about places like myspace online. don't be too hard on them -- they just dont understand how it all works but they are also right to do their best to protect you. maybe you can convince them to let you make a website of your own instead?

Yes, Myspace is a dangerous place if you make it like that. I have my profile private and I only talk to and add people I know.

If you are under 18 then my space automatically sets your profile to private where only your friends can view it and look at your pics,blogs,surveys,comments etc...
People can message you but all you have to do is delete them if you do not know who it is.

Okay, here are some security settings you should be aware of
People cannot view your page unless they know your last name or email.
People cannot view pictures of you if you do not post them as your default.
No information is given out involuntarily. You can lie about age and everything.
