In love with a Jamaican guy!!!!!!!!!?

i'm an african/native american woman and I met this wonderful jamaican guy at work. we have been dating for six months now and everything is wonderful. the thing that's bothering me is that i'm a single mother of one and planning on marrying this man a few years from now. im planning on moving to jamaica with him and starting my life over. first, are the schools good for american kids? second, how do i keep myself up? ( like nails, hair and other beauty care). and third, how is the health care, like prenatal care? I'm planning on having my second child with him there in jamaica. let me what you think!!!!

Depends on where in Jamaica you are planning to move to. Generally, if you are close to an Urban Center, even a town like Mandeville or Santa Cruz you should be ok.
1. The Jamaican education system is pretty good. It's different from the American system (it more closely mirrors the British), but it is fairly easy to assimilate. If your children are elementary school age, I would suggest sending them to a private school (called prep school in Jamaica). You will receive a world class education, and the fees are generally lower than private elementary schools in the USA). You would be paying an average of Jamaican $40,000 a term (maybe lower, depending on the quality and reputation of the school), and that is equivalent to about $597. USD. The public schools are more spotty. The quality will depend on the location and reputation of the school. However, public school education at the elementary/primary school education is free, and SOME of the schools are excellent.
If they are in high school, I would suggest sending them to a public school. The schools are ranked based on their academic strength and their exam passes. "traditional" high schools such as Immaculate, Campion, and Cornwall have a very very excellent education, and they are cheap. Around Jamaican $14,000 a year.
2. You wont have a problem finding great nail and hair care places. They abound and they are much cheaper. I was surprised when I moved to the US about how much more expensive it is to do my hair and nails here.
At the best salons in Kingston (or anywhere else), you would probably spend about Jamaican $2000 or less to do your nails (that is way less than $50 USD). Same with hair. If you want to look smashing though, I suggest going to the really nice salons. They are cheaper than the US, but you get great service. One such salon is "Salon Innovation".
In general, the doctors are very well trained, but not all of the hospitals are nice. the Kingston Public Hospital is not very nice, but the University of the West Indies (UWI) hospital is one of the best in the Caribbean, and you will get excellent service. This is a public/university research hospital, so it is also very cheap.
There are also lots of private hospital that offer excellent care. They are significantly more expensive, but comparably cheaper than in the USA.
I think you will do ok. If you live in a nice area, and have a little extra money, you wont even know you're in a "3rd world" country. Unfortunately, it's the less fortunate that don't have those options.

I would say take things one step at a time. I love visiting Jamaica for many reasons and I have been several times, but if you haven't been there, you need to go check it out because not everyone is comfortable there. You also need to keep in mind six months is not very long to know someone. I am sure you both have much more to discover about each other. I don't mean to come across pessimistic.....just realistic. Take some time...what is your hurry? Visit Jamaica a few times with him, let him really get your know your kid, meet his family, and them start planning your marriage and life together. Start by building a solid foundation and a strong relationship before you start having babies and move to another country. Jamaica is the right place to Educate your child, Your child will learn more because he/she have been expose to lot of thing
their are lot of private school in Jamaica which will be Good.sending the Childd to a public school, will set him/her backward if it is not a hing school, because that chil will have too much fun in a public school, that mean the child will play a lot,their will be too much freedom.All the stuff that you take to keep you self up is in Jamaica,their are lot of beauty saloon in Jamaica,I recommend Saint James Montego Bay, Montego Bay is little Miami
The only Problem you will Have in Jamaica is that it is quite easy to make Babies in Jamaica is you love sex. Their are lot of private and public medical center in Jamaica, I think you should visit Jamaica and shop around, Their are lot of Jamaican who are living in The US who have child who was born and raise in the US.they come to Jamaica for the summer holidays, some stay,some go back,please visit Jamaica you will learn a lot.
